Yellow Noise

my soul has waned from withering need

no sunrise warm to foster me

no yellow noise to lull.

Did you know there are many colors of noise? Yellow noise is like white. It’s a soft, deep noise used for relaxation, sleep, study, or simply to block out extraneous sounds. There are other colors with little variation, including a pink noise that is used for babies with colic.

love your take on yellow noise ... it challenged my imagination to think about what it might be .. i only know what "white" noise is ... but i connected it to the warm sun in your poem so absolutely felt her lack of it ... i think this is an incredible 3 line poem .. "...waned from withering need" so impactfull and emotive .. i read the tale of how her neglect has worn her down ... so sad ... title poem and pic are in alignment Kelly ..another keeper says i!

This is so beautifully intriguing, engaging to mind and soul. I know the feeling of various colors to quiet the mind or stir the soul's fires, but did not know of this idea of various colored noise. Reading your words again, the mysterious place of the blinded sunrise, the peaceful place that stays out of reach for you. Powerfully moving.

Your poem is packed with emotion and further enhanced with the touching image you have with it. I don't know how you do it, but your words speak volumes and definitely bring out certain emotions before, during, and after reading them. Loved this write, Kelly.

Your kindness overwhelms me, Dara. Thank you so much for brightening my day! Many blessings!
I have to say I have never heard of noise being associated with color
I wonder if there are enough types of noise to associate with each of the endless variations of color
Just wondering!

It is amazing, isn't it? Thank you, John! Have a great day.
Very interesting....I believe certain colors do soothe a person and others rile them. Very emotional lines...and as I have told you for 20 years now, you are the Queen when it comes to packing a lot of meaning into so few lines! Lydi**
