Even the Willow Weeps

Even the Willow Weeps

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

I've always loved a willow tree...

Even the Willow Weeps

Our kitchen talks

have long been said.

Novels by Stephen King,

long read.

The variegated ivy

is sitting still

upon a weathered sill.

The hands of time

perpetually sweep

a myriad of days.

Even the willow weeps.

Nothing perpetuates melancholy or beauty like the Willow. Thank you most kindly, Nev!
I love the willow trees dear Kelly. They have a haunting appearance. Stephen king quote is true.
"The hands of time
perpetually sweep
a myriad of days."
Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Very kind of you to say Kelly - yr a Star yrself ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
The first verse lends a hint of darkness, with its mention of Stephen King novels. The rest of the poem is a contemplation of time and its effects. Perhaps we are being told that there is a feeling of sadness, even for bad times past. For why else would the willow weep?
