Sunrise

Sunrise

A Poem by Aimee Mahathy
"

Just a quick, simple poem I had to write in the heat of the moment.

"

I watch the sun with weary eyes

And dream of bed, my well earned prize.

I wonder why I always set

When he chooses to rise.

Intended or not this really says a lot. Off the cuff can yield amazing results.

This would have to be about the desire to be with someone who probably had walked away just as she reached him. It's so much like the relationship of the sun and moon: one would exist when the other's gone. Well, that's my interp. This piece may be short but it speaks volumes.

it is, and sometimes so few words bring about the wonders of us. I know that feeling about getting out of bed to write, cause if I don't it's lost forever. I love this line..."dream of bed, my well earned prize" really says alot. Nice write

I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
