Winter

Winter

A Poem by Aimee Mahathy
"

A strange acrostic circa 2005

"

When is it time for the skies to turn white?
Birds no longer sing merrily in the trees, and
Lands newly covered with angelic tears, frozen in time.
Wistfully drifting in and out of the frigid drifts
Of sleepers in wake. Castles in the sky built for
The morrow; Dreamers hoping for spring.

Author's Note

Aimee Mahathy
This acrostic is not the usual. The first letter in the first line is W, the second letter in the second line is I, the third letter in the third line is N. Following that pattern, it spells- Winter. The title of the poem. I chose for this poem no rhyme and no actual form, despite the acrostic form. I wanted it to be as unpredictable as winter itself.

I'm 33 now, much more settled into myself, and getting back to it again. The previous about me is gonna stay for now, since it's still somewhat accurate and I need some time to figure out what to say .. more..
