Liar

Liar

A Poem by Princess Belle

These salty selfish tears
Drop onto the fine print
0f a contract
I so blindly signed-
Lists of should haves
Clutter my table
The ideal end
Is now only
A blueprint in my mind.
Staring at the shambles in front of me
Hurt because the mansion failed to be
I rustle through my pockets
Searching for riches-
but finding a dime
I realise with time-
It'll become easier to forgive the lie

Lies are one of the hardest things to forgive, aren't they? I love your use of figurative language. I can clearly see that cluttered table. Nicely done.
Thank you for entering this in my contest. I enjoyed it.

Very insightful... The interpretation is left wide open and you really made me think when I read this. I loved the rhythm and the concept. Great write.
