Goodnight

Goodnight

A Poem by Mjr. Tom

How do I word these feelings?

Feelings that flow from my heart?

Do you know how ingrained you are

In my soul?

I need to tell you... I love you...

When you're with me I feel perfect... whole

You take away all the pain

With the gentle touch of your voice

Stay with me...forever...for I need you

Do you know how often I've cried in

My sleep, my pillows are stained

I don't cry anymore, don't shake anymore

When we're together, eyes locked in place

The world around us seems to freeze

We know our place (together)

Our souls piece together

Like the perfect puzzle

We fit together, piece by broken piece

I'd die just to hold you... I love you

I just wanted to say-goodnight.

To the point, driven home like a Barry Bonds home run. Awesome work!

Line by line, phrase by phrase, you slowly slide into a warm admission of love, sweet love: ' I love you ~ I just wanted to say-goodnight ' ..
