In this Dark Cellar

In this Dark Cellar

A Poem by mikael owusu
"

Tis about the dilemma of holding or letting go

"
"Dark Cellar"
In this dark cellar i lay
Behind the cage of my brain
Whose doors have been unhinged.
Yet i cannot escape
"Emancipate me!" I scream silently
But no soul apparently hears me.
Shoul i cry?
Should i call?
Nope, nobody will come to my aid at all.
A thousand eyes stare at me here
And they whisper the most strangest of things.
"Come to us " they beckon to me in the dark.
"Anything you want, nothing will you lack" they add.
"What about the unruly warden
And his perculiar laws?
And if i do come to thee,
Wilst thou help me over the wall?"
" silly boy ! we are the young ones of old, nothing to us seem hard or bold"
I give in then they take my soul!
Am i free?
