A Chapter by Natasha

I’ve forgotten to breathe

One two

In out

I can’t help but forget so I gasp into the night

Harmonious laughter, cawing

Running forward and back, it is not circular but triangular

The one to the two to the six to the twenty

Every evening grows and lessens

It breathes; in out

Up down

I can’t breathe with this

I am asthmatic and yet I am not

One to partake in the ruckus

The craning over one another to reach that cloud

Nine of us left to wonder helplessly in our own worlds

We are but the sun and the moon and the stars and the shine and the sky

Breathe
