Silent Promise

Silent Promise

A Poem by Natalie C

Darkened prince of this misty sacred night,

Rise from your shadowy hole

And welcome your fate.

A broken angel,

Battered and bruised,

Perching upon your nameless tomb

Where you lay buried within your solitude.

Tattered and stained,

Her feet knows no other place

Than standing firmly next to your desolate grave

Wings torn and hacked,

 She remains,

Protecting your temporary resting place.

Waiting for the day

Promised to her some decades ago.

Holding a heart,

Precious and pure,

As she gently squeezes,

Masterfully draining all the vile of the days gone by

That so painfully sent you to where you are lying today.

Patiently she lingers,

Waiting for her destiny to come true,

As her prince still rests completely oblivious

Of this lone protector of his abandoned grave.

Eyes carved from her skull,

She blindly follows the feelings

That could possibly one day make her whole.

Knowing that someday he would ascend,

Claiming a heart,

She's held dear for so many years.

Wow, what a darkened romance scene made with such depth in the imagery and these heartfelt words. Man, if my girl died, I couldnt stand living another second without being by her side (hope i said that right hehe) I mean, i would do everything in my power to bring her back, or if i cant do that, then i would definitely take my own life so that i could be with her. Im not lying; i truly would. If it took me my whole life trying to get a girl, and god forbid she died in such a short time, i couldnt live with myself anymore. Very beautiful poem. Great picture! :)
