The darkness of a brave heart

The darkness of a brave heart

A Story by Natalie-hs

It's a cold, dark night. The only light there is, is the moon's.

Its reflection is on the quiet ocean, the sound of waves coming back and forth to that

Cold shore.

She's fearless and brave, she starts walking towards that secretive ocean, with her

Long black hair and soft skin that is covered with freckles and moles , wearing her white

dress. She starts feeling that cold sand playing through her toes, it gives her the shivers.

Yet, she keeps on walking and walking.

The wind whispers softly to her ears : " Put your head up , breathe in and release.."

As if the wind understands her more than souls.

Her lonesome is killing her softly, yet she remains strong , a bit heavy thought, but strong.

She hides behind her smile and fake laughter, no one can get to her.

She believes he's out there, the man that will take her hand and show her what's it like

To be happy.

She lies down on that cold sand, her hair is in full motion with the companion wind.

The wind that will not leave her tonight.

Not tonight...

Not tonight...

Nice work. I have two teenage daughters who would probably identify with your poem.
