Blue Eyes Tinted Red (Age 16)

Blue Eyes Tinted Red (Age 16)

A Poem by Andy Hackett
"

About a person who was one of my best friends, and we shared musical tastes which served as a part inspiration for this song, Coheed And Cambria being one of them.

"

Day I : Words To Myself On The Edge Of Madness

Tried to fool yourself about how you feel,
Silent thoughts you dreamed were real,
One day the tears trickled from your eyes
Wearing fabric masks of choice disguise,
No shoulder where she'd rest her head,
Blue eyes tinted red may as well be dead.

Day II : Confessions And Questions To My Great Friend

Okay..okay..okay..I need to tell you today,
It's ripping me apart, this tragic one-shot play,
But we were only meant to be best friends,
Will telling you and being cut down mean the end?
But it won't hold inside, it weighs down like lead,
Blue eyes tinted red may as well be dead.

Do you remember that one song we loved?
Remember the moment felt sent from above?
Do you remember how it was those days,
Why it's not anymore, why we went astray?
We were one, but now we're lost instead,
Blue eyes tinted red may as well be dead.

Okay..okay..okay..I'll tell you my only secret,
It terrifies me still, I hate myself for feeling it,
I know you love me, but not the way I hope,
How I wish it could be different, we could elope,
I'm telling you anyway although I die by dread,
Blue eyes tinted red, am I really dead?
