Me, Myself, and I

Me, Myself, and I

A Poem by Nerdy_Gal214

If an angel comes to you, to tell you death is coming...what do you do?

Me, Myself, and I

I once met a man named Steffen

Who dropped right down from heaven

To tell me of my mistakes

Before I ended up at the “Fiery Red Gates”

“You’ll die in a week.” He’d said, trying to alert just me myself and I

Of my mistakes, right before I die

“What from?” I asked, curious of the causes.

“Car accident.” He immediately replied, “You die from blood losses.”

“How far will I make it? The hospital, the car?”

He sadly shook his head, “I can tell you right now you won’t make it very far.”

“So, I’m stuck? There’s no way out, I’m doomed to die?”

He shook his head again, “Death is coming, you need to stop the lies.”

He once again warned me, myself, and I

Right before I’d die

“But I don’t want to die!” I screamed, “I have a family, friends, things to do!”

“It’s too bad,” He said, “Death’s too near for you.”

And that very Friday, as I was driving my car, a big truck hit me; the male driver came from a bar.

He didn't even know he’d smashed right into me,

I walked away from the accident with just a sore knee.

That day I lived, I didn’t die.

Because I listened to Steffen,

I stopped my lies.
