Heartache

Heartache

A Poem by Neurosis

Sit there tender-hearted

so soft and vulnerable

go through the whole day trying to play it safe

nothing feels quite the same

nothing else has changed

but somehow everything feels... uncomfortable

It's a feeling you can't escape

when the one you love has gone away

need some time for the shell to regrow

The wound is still emanates that bright red glow

so tender and bright

don't try to touch it

don't aggravate the site

wait till the tension no longer shows

let it heal and let it go
