Catch & Release

A Poem by Neville

when they want to go, just let them go...

Catch & Release

If I could

have

released you

unharmed

back into the

wild where

I once

found you

Believe me

true

my darling

you would

have been

free a

long time ago..

maybe they ( she ;) ) would prefer to be unharmed with You rather than to be free and harmed, You ask them what they want and act like it, but not the "crickets" lol

I loved the wit in this write, very honest but clever. Some people are good at mind games

i don't think we often mean to hurt others...but when we stop loving, it is too late to release another unharmed in heart.

Wow, what's it mean, man? Sounds ominous...maybe I'm better off not understanding.
I am picturing you, on safari--Bungalo Neville, out tiger hunting with his
elephants and gun...of course, in case of accidents, you always take your mum (or someone to fill in for her).
You find, in the midst of your tiger hunting, a lovely girl, but she was born in the wild and raised by tigers,
You see her, and man, you are just gone...she blows you away, and you must have her. She is...exquisite...
You catch her, bring her home, and cage her so she won't run away.
You painstakingly gentle and tame the beast, for in spite of her heartbreaking beauty, that is what she is.
You take her to your heart, love her, but after a while, she begins to resist...
Oh, dear God, but she is everything you ever wanted in a woman.
She has been matriculated into human society, and is no longer suited to her previous life.
Besides; all the tigers have been killed, and the jungle she came from now has a strip mall and a bunch of condominiums in its place.
What to do?
I see that yer hands are tied...poor Neville. Me heart bleeds for ye.
Oh, and Happy Lennon Appreciation day.
I am drinking Brandy Alexanders now...

Old wise saying. If you love someone. Set them free. Rarely they will return. I liked your thoughts. Sometimes, once free bird can forget the freedom of the sky. Thank you Neville for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Then I thank you again my friend..
This is a very intriguing set of ideas & I relate to your message on many levels. I'm not a fan of "catch & release" as it relates to real fish, becuz I don't believe this is kind. But also, being a wild fish myself, I'm also relating on a human level. This has just the right amount of sass (((NUGS))) Fondly Margie

She needed protecting from herself. That's why you have not been able to forget her and let her rest. Why did I just say that? Maybe I am thinking about my daughter. I had this lovely image of a dandelion head being released from the palm of my hand. Blown to the wind. Fragile, a free spirit. Thought provoking poetry Neville.
