Disequilibrium

Disequilibrium

A Poem by Neville

Disequilibrium

There is no such thing as

Equal

It’s a truly mismatched

World

With no approximations

And

Where balance is absurd

There is no such thing as

Perfect

It’s a faulty fucked up

World

Where victims weep in

Silence

And where their screams

Are seldom heard

There is no such thing as

Justice

Or even purpose in such

A nihilistic world

Fin de l’historie …

Nope, there is not isn't. In such an inequal world, its a wonder that we ain't all rolling about like weebles (remember them? Very painful if thrown at your head)
Too many people caring only for numero uno and glad awful stuff happens to other people, hopefully to the abroadinese, so they don't have to see it too close to their own front door.
An awful thing to think, unless it's an ex, then it's allowed i think.
Well said, and great use of nihilistic. You don't see that enough in poetry.

You have been missed too... thanks sette and truly

I realize your well-stated & straightforward & somewhat bitter poem is about the bigger picture, how this world is so tweaked against fairness, but a different idea was also piqued by this poem. In my younger days, I was not competitive, even tho I did many athletic & adventure outings like riding bike across USA. I felt it best to compare myself to whatever I've been doing & then trying to do my best -- who cares how I stack up in the scheme of things?!?! Sometimes comparing oneself is part of the problem, not just that the world sucks (((earplugs))) Fondly, Margie

Perfectly penned for a totally imperfect world we live in where the have nots far exceed the others. While some are stinking rich beyond belief others starve to death and the suffering of children is heart wrenching. I will stop there because I could go on forever Neville. You have captured what many will think but are powerless to change significantly. Governments make change and sadly Governments both at home and especially elsewhere don't care about their own people. A very topical write.

Always welcome Neville. Have a good day.
Love the chosen title and nihilistic finalé and agree with the lines in between -- we have created a me-first world and have yet to find out the error of mismatched imbalance. Sadly perceptive but such a strong read.

Many thank you's Fay.. yes tis a sorry state of affairs & true.... N
could not have said it better, Neville...

i like the "in your face" style and wording of this one.
such a truth...no equality, no justice, rich get richer and poor get poorer.
the balance is completely swung one way...
so much for us little people.
excellent write.
