the trolley, much like a homeless person might use. The metaphor works so well here. She keeps leaving, keeps losing her home because she cannot trust in love.
She is unreachable...I was married to someone like this...but deep inside there was a warmth, a hurt warmth, an untrusting warmth, but a warmth nonetheless. As Chris has said....you leave space between the lines for us to explore themes.

I may be wrong Neville, but have you written about the Ice Maiden before? It seems to ring a bell. That's a whole lot of cold there, beautifully penned I might add and I am left wondering why the blood in her veins froze over. Maybe her husband had something to do with it:)) The supermarket trolley is an intriguing way to make an exit.

to be honest Chris, I can't remember ... or maybe I have simply suppressed any such recollection .. thanks tho regardless my friend
how important honest communication is between couples eh!? ...probably spent at least a year ..maybe ten ...hiding the growing frost and disenchantment in her relationship. How aggravating, frustrating and stressful for him. Feeling the chill grow deeper and deeper ... crazy instant relief for both with just one simple question ... "What do you want the most" .. and actions speak louder than words eh. The sharp knife leaves the cleanest wound and heals more quickly ... what a story in so few lines .. i see and feel tons of emotions and tension in between those lines Nev! well done says i .. straight forward and as humanly relatable as it gets. Thanks for sharing sir!

Oh my, you've "melted" my head with the thought of being asked what I really want from like minded individuals with slush puppies coarsing through their veins. A straight answer? Getting to the punchline without roundabouts and detours? To stop thinking I'm her footwarmer (took me three days to peel myself off the ceiling) 😊
Brushing aside my own faults (yes, all two of them!) I'll be thinking of this all day and will end up with a list the size of a phone book. 😊
