Him

Him

A Poem by Victor

I'll be there when he's not,
just as sure as you won't be when he is.
I'll hear your voice inside my head,
even while he whispers that you're his.
This headache of a mistake,
just becomes another heartache in disguise.
My secret desire turned you the victim,
while yours just comes across as lies.
While you two work out all your problems,
and fix what was meant to be,
I'll do my best to undo these feelings,
and forget the you and me.

Author's Note

Victor
This poem and the others I may post are essentially the first ones I've written for anything besides school. I've written short stories before, but I find myself in a complicated set of circumstances that involve love, and so I started to write poems about it in my frustration late at night. I don't really know how to convey rhythm or the tempo that these poems should be read at, nor how to properly organize them into stanzas, but I did my best. Please feel free to give feedback, as there's not many people I can show these poems to, and I'd like to talk about them. Thank you.
