Ophelia

Ophelia

A Poem by Nichole Juliet Hemstock
"

This...This is my personal favorite. I was studying a lot about fallen angels and the birth of sin and stuff about a year ago, and I was intrigued. This is pretty much my spin on the birth of a Demon.

"
On a Night so very long ago, a demon had a dream.
His anger was personified into a hellish girl of steam.
Her hair was long and snake-like, a beast with eyes of green.
Her anger was the worst of sin, and jealousy was keen.

One day she was created, by the hate and sin of man.
No demon man could keep her, so throughout the Earth she ran.
In her path was deep destruction, and the lives of men she twisted.
As she grew and grew, the art of lying was invented.

Demons lost control, and Ophelia she was names.
She took over man, and of the world she became.
Her struggle dark and holy, a fight with God and man.
Ophelia has created all the children of the damned.

Review, this is the best poem, in my opinion, that I have ever written. It goes deeper than the Heaven and Hell and Hamlet references though.

Love this, the last line is perfect.

One thing I noticed was that in the first stanza it sounded like she was already born and then in the 2nd stanza it says the hate of man created her, not the demon. A little confused there, but love the theme and everything else.
