Invisible

Invisible

A Poem by Nickee Carlson

I wish I was invisible to everyone around,

They wouldn't know I was here 'cause I wouldn't make a sound.

I would slip through the hallways in school,

I wouldn't have to try to be cool.

For now I am only visible by sight,

But invisible when I feel out of place and not right.

No one can see inside my heart,

The don't know where I end and where I start.

They only see the person who walks,

But they do not know of the girl who talks.

The girl who cries under her masks,

The girl holding the burden of a thousand tasks.

The pain of the girl who walks the halls,

Hides behind her broken walls.

So if I can't be seen anywhere I go,

Then I could hide my pain and no one would know.

No one would know if I were there,

No one would know so no one could care.

I want to be invisable so no one can see,

All of the pain that they inflict on me.
