Unaccounted For

Unaccounted For

A Poem by Nicole Laszlo

“What’s on the Ceiling?”

She asked me innocently

Only my memories-

I wanted to tell her

Can’t you see them?

I wanted to ask her

But I couldn’t-

I couldn’t speak

I could only smile

So I shook my head

And let her stay as she was

As my memories played out

Ghosts- unaccounted for

Captures a mood and a moment really well. Also the ceiling hits home.
