It could be the making of me. 

We could do that more often.

Not just the spending time part.

But I would help you some more. 

Be by your side when you needed it.

Look after you when you wanted someone, be your confidant too.

When the black cloud haunted me, you would chase it away; saving me as I would you.

We would work together, could be good together.

You could be the making of me!

Nice but sloppy in places.
This sentence I failed to understand and you ended two lines with the word often.

John said the piece was "sloppy", you said you are "soppy". Which is it!!! I can't see two lines ending in "often". Have you edited it? Sometimes repetition can bring emphasis. A grammatical note, if I may, a male "confidant" is "confidant", a female "confidant" is "confidante", with an e on the end. I like it, however many "oftens" there are. Is it the second part of a longer piece? Do we get to know what brought about the euphoria expressed in the poem? I think we should be told.

I am both mike, you should know me by now :-)
I did edit it. I agree though; sometimes it does sound "right" to emphasis something, but in this case I like how it sounds now.
It was just a "quickie" (part of a few lately) that I fired off before, during and after helping out Mister T (not that one) ~ it's nothing too exciting... sadly.
Just helping him with his election campaign ~ see, nothing exciting!
