You Want Their Soul

Something I wrote a few years back.

Love does not come from a card
Love does not come from a paper
Love does not come from a candy
Or even tissue paper

Love comes from not brain nor the heart
Sure, a hearts apart
But you know where true love comes from?

Their little smiles that brightens up your day
That makes the clouds seem to go away?
Their faint pink on the cheeks
That makes you think…?
The old love songs you used to listen too
The ones you thought were dumb and untrue?
Then you listen to them now and they are all brand new,
Now they are all true?

You used to be a friend and now that friend is the end.
You want to be more.
But not sure how much more.
You think and think
Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Husband? Wife?
But none of them are what you want in life.
You want them to be there for you till death do you part,
But what them even longer and never want to part
You want them to love you for life
But not sure life will even cover how much love you feel.

So what now?
You don’t know what to do and then you think and think, again and again till you finally realize.
You want their soul, and maybe, just maybe they want yours too.
Souls live on forever and ever.
You love that soul more than any other
So you think
Hey, why not forever?

You realize that you were as blind as a bat
You don’t want them
No, not that
You want their soul, the things that make them who you love.
Their Passion
Their Commitment
Their Loyalty
Their Honesty
Their Love

That all comes from the soul not a brain or a heart
But as I said, a hearts apart.
The heart lets you know when your life on this world begins with them
And when it’s through
Then your souls soar together as one in the sky of the heavens
And you know then you found your true love.
That you found your soul mate.
And forever shall you roam together as one.
