Disdain

Disdain

A Poem by Nightingale Silva
"

Feelings and dealings . . .

"
Heart hanging on a string,
Dangling there for the world to see.
I am what I am,
And that's all that I am.

No need to hide behind anything,
Because I just want to give you everything.
I bleed myself dry trying to appease you.
But you see nothing, even with all I do.

I feel like I just go around and around again
On this carousel.
I was high at one point, flying above it all,
Until I fell.

I know how to give,
While all you do is take.
The fire inside me runs deep,
As I'm aware of all the secrets you keep.

You think I am ignorant of all you do,
Little do you know I see right through you.
But here I am, drowning in a sea of you,
Dying slowly from all that you do.

I've been here silently screaming,
Verbally pleading...
But my words are all in vain,
As you care not about my feelings of disdain...
