A Love Song

A Love Song

A Poem by Nimfle

Love Song.

Do I know you?
Do you know me?

I have a song.
Can you sing along?

I have dream from long ago,
A precious boy come and go.

I knew him until his father
Found him another mother
Then they disappeared together.

Inside my memories from so long ago
Lives a precocious boy of eighteen
Who loved my paintings.

He wrote a song
And made me sing along.

I draw him now in pastels
He frowns down at me
From within the colours.

I stare at him
Until my heart whimpers
Too bad...
He lives in winter.

I wish we could meet
Somewhere in a winding street.
Between the seasons
Without any reasons.

I hummed the lyrics along
Painting my imaginations aloud,
Whilst thinking back to the silent man
I met,
When I used to own a cat.

Remember Wan?
Who loved no one.

Humming the lyrics of our love song
As I walk alone
You would find me
If only you hear
This

Song.

Very beautiful, lovely words- like the pastels and the 'heart whimpers'- It evokes the precious emotion of lost love. I also love the way you crossed out love and song to deepen the meaning. Great piece!
