Memories Of Her [His Side]

Memories Of Her [His Side]

A Chapter by Nimfle

Remember me
I pray; as I cross continents
To fight wars for greedy men;
For our brothers
Who died for peace    in violent fields.

Bear with me
I pray as I lay in trenches
dug by broken men-

Thinking only of the girl
I left behind
In a town in the middle of nowhere.

I love how you crossed out the word peace, it adds lots of depth and sadness to the poem. The last line is especially very resonant. This was very moving to read, and I like the contrasts you put in it of violence/greed and love at the end!
