Prologue

The Council of Five has become the Council of Four.

“Did you hear about it?”

“What?”

“Libran.”

“Of course I heard about him!”

“Did you hear what happened?”

“Besides the fact that he’s dead?”

“Minister Gadwell knows why.”

“It wasn’t the fever?”

“Gadwell told me he was poisoned.”

“I don’t understand. By who?”

“You won’t believe me.”

“Enough dramatics. Tell me.”

“All right. It was the other Councilmen.”

“What?! Why?”

“The rumors of a prophecy--I take it you’ve heard. Gadwell told me Libran was the 

one who received it.”

“He received it?”

“And he didn’t tell anyone.”

“But why not?”

“No one knows. But if he kept something that big from the others, something that 

could destroy the Council"”

“That means he was a traitor. A traitor in the Council!”

“And that’s why.”

“But how would Gadwell know anything?”

“He’s trusted, he hears things. He’s well on his way to becoming an Upper Minister, 

you know.”

“And his son’s getting looked at too. Maybe utilized soon.”

“Mm.”

“The Council of Five with a traitor. I don’t believe it.”

“Council of Four, now.”

“Has a nice ring to it.”

well, this really grabbed my attention and got me interested in what the two were talking about. it was straight to the point and was in a gossip-form (which i think most people are just naturally attracted to). there isn't any actions displayed but there doesn't need to be. once again, it's straight to the point and that's why my attention is seized. good job.
