Calls Like Daydreams

Calls Like Daydreams

A Poem by Nipplegrinder

The onyx haired temptress
Stood on the pier
Moonshadow
Her shawl framed the curve of
her cheekbones
and made her eyelashes
longer than they were
She keeps her eyes closed
on windy nights
and lets the gales give beauty
Allowing gusts to shape a smile
And stillness to entice

The piercing stare
the daring allure of her scent
from across the lake
calls like daydreams
at night
the hint of moss
sprouting orchids

I tumble into the river of her
The lake is but means
I nearly drown in the deep
obsidian ocean of her gaze
Her hair smells of
my stares into her eyes
as we once parted kiss
Her neck tastes of
the long nights I could not
touch her

This is lovely, NG. I can see her in all her mystic beauty. The first three lines are my favorite. 'Moonshadow' indeed!

Thank you so much, Alexa. Means much, dear lady.
Your description is effectively visceral. The opening truly painted an almost real image in my brain pan. The rest was, fine... but god damn, you opened with something special.

I can't write like that; F.U..

F.U., too. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I like that last line, it has an "at last" feel to it. They may or mat not have lived happily ever after by they lived (in the far more than mere survival sense of the word).

Thanks, Coop. I really don't understand your review, but I appreciate that you dig the last line.
