Waking from a Dream

woke from a dream and wanted to fall back into it.

My eyes open, I stare into the black. All I'd like is for that image to come back. It's been there before, I've seen her many times. I can't force that new scene to replay in my mind. Coming back into it, I attempt to change it's fate. Read a story in my mind to somehow make it stay. I look forward to these moments. I smile in my sleep. For when I close my eyes, it's you I try to keep.
