Love Me, Only

Love Me, Only

A Poem by NoireWriter

Does he wander in his thoughts,
Of others beside his wife, besides me?
His affections I have fought for.
When he closes his eyes who does he see?

Is his dreams of the one he swears he loves,
Or is it of those that slip into the crevices?
Has he changed as he swears to the God above,
Is it someone else he thinks of in our kisses?

Is his heart truly mine,
Or is it wild and untameable?
'I love you' is that just an empty line,
Or is that phrase bursting full?

His mysterious eyes,
Are they full of truth,
Or destroying lies?
Is our love as Boaz and Ruth?

'My God, my life writer,
Is pain what lies ahead?
Must I be a constant fighter?
Must my heart be continuously bled?'

'My God, bless what little I have left to bare,
For my soul can't handle much more.
I'm breakable, please handle me with care.
I'm fragile as a rose in a powerful downpour.'

My love, my husband,
I have only ever wanted one thing,
One thing in this rough life,
Love as all the artists sing.
Love pure even in strife.

Please let your eyes only wander for me,
That your love and lust is for my heart.
That I-with my entire soul-plea.
That our souls will never stray nor part.
