A wish

Been through a lot, just wondering how to explain

Been a few years, many years growing up was different

Nothing been the same, it's scary

Just want a normal year, hopefully these next two can be

Night walks up till one in the morning

Still not sleeping, nights turn into weeks

Trying to work through everything

Things piling up, one after the other

One night, i wish for sleep

Free of these nightmares and these ropes

These words, they flow like the river off these sore fingers

There is so much to write, it hurts to talk about

But i need that, gotta work through it

Your writing is starkly realistic (a good thing). What stands out for me is that this narrator is hoping for 2 good years!!! That's almost funny in the day & age of taking one step at a time! I'm afraid we've got to get used to scratching & crawling along for years sometimes (((HUGS)))
