Lion King

Lion King

A Poem by Noriene

Dear deer,
My life flashes before my eyes
I do not regret anything
But what of the things I haven't done yet?

The world seems so large now
All was fine when I was a child
But a cub in the pride
My family is ruthless

Like our mother, Nature
Heartless
I do not feel like a king anymore
I lay in a pool of my own blood

Shall I kill as compensation?
The blood on my teeth is hardly dry
But do not blame me
Our ruthless Mother made me so

It's so cold
I'm so cold
I have never felt this weak before
I'm scared
Help me dear deer
Even the Lion King is afraid of Death
