Psycho- Prologue

‘‘Okay call me crazy but this time I swear I’m not kidding. Call it some kind of coincidence or something but I know for a fact that I’ve seen those dark blue eyes somewhere. Not quite sure exactly but I’m pretty sure this is the main feature in my dreams.’’ I played with my fingers nervously as the person across from me sitting on a navy blue chair wrote down notes into a palm-sized notebook.

 

Chewing on my lower lip, I took a moment or two trying to gather my words before I continued.

‘‘It’s the exact same thing every night, those eyes just popping in and out. Either it’s a look of lust or there is no emotion but I can tell you Doctor Samuels, somehow oddly enough, I actually look forward to these dreams. I feel like it’s like a sign of some sort, like I can sense a strong vibe that something is going to happen.’’

 

I looked up to see Doctor Samuels staring at me with a great fascination. It’s not like he hasn’t done it before, heck I get these from millions of New Yorkers every single day. He of all people doing it is something I have grown accustomed to. Before I could say anything else, a short alarm rang out indicating that my session has ended for the day.

Standing up from my seat, I smoothed down the non-existent wrinkles on my jet black pencil skirt and faced the man in front of me.

‘‘Very well Miss. Page. I’ve noticed that you have made great progress this week but I’d like you to try and bring out more.’’ I raised my perfectly arched eyebrows in confusion.

‘‘Yes, sensing your confusion, I’ll have my secretary e-mail the details to you.’’

Him holding the door, I walked out of the room with my high heels clacking against the hardwood floor before facing him once more.

‘‘Let’s say…’’ He looked into his planner for our next session.

‘‘I can schedule our next appointment on the 23^rd of March, around the same time.’’ He looked at me for confirmation.

Nodding in agreement, I gave out a polite smile before walking out into the cold, fall breeze.
