rewind time

rewind time

A Poem by Nyaa

Memories of a distant past

Wishing ii could rewind time

It would be so simple. Just a turn of an hour glass

Watch as the grains fall back into place

But this place has turned my once beautiful face

Grey.

Never was the type to replace love with hate

But at this rate the two words sound the same

They say there's no pleasure without a little bit of pain

But this pain feels like a double barrel to the brain

Blood rush through my veins trying to find a safe place

Trying to save face.

Conversations cut deeper than surgical instrumentals

Melodically engraving poison notes on my skin

Tattooed my sin so the world could witness

My destruction

Searching for protection

I wear my battle scars like jewelry

To show the world no matter what you do to me

I will stay strong...

I wish ii could turn back the hands of time

To the moment before ii wanted you to be mine

Erase the memories of wanting you

Needing you

Believing in you...

Turn my hour glass up side down

Watch the grains fall back into place

To the moment right before ii first saw your face...

The idea that time can be changed, reversed, and revised is one that offered attraction to everyone. Kids call the concept a "do over", adults just wish and keep their mouths shut to even smiles. I wonder if the poem really need any rhyme? I thought it didn't and certainly didn't need inconsistent rhyme.
