The Monster Within

A hateful personality

just below the surface

of a beastly figure,

but can I be cured?

 

The loving looks she adorns me with,

even though I live in pain,

is this emotion I feel meant for me?

 

All the time I've spent

in the darkness

is still upon me,

can I be brought back into the light?

 

Only time will tell

and as the sweet plant continues to predict,

the time I have left is slipping...

slipping ever so quickly.

 

Time is running out...

Author's Note

I know it's kinda weird to post this when Beastly is out in theaters, but I just read the book and it inspired me to write this. *Note: I did not take any saying from the books, movies, plays, etc. based on Beauty and the Beast and/or Beastly. It's all my own work. Also, this is supposed to be in the Beast's perspective.* Please be nice with the reviews/comments, thanks! :)

this is very interesting, be even more interesting if you make like a series of poems like this and just have a book full of them. . .like a book thats like a diary from the beasts thoughts/prospective and have like other characters in it you know? Cool idea?

I like that book. That chat parts are hysterical to me.

Great poem. I love the opening verse. And the way you ended. It makes it suspenseful.
