Forgive me

I wrote this pieces in a space of confusion in terms of what to do in my relationship do i leave or do I stay...?

I don’t know how I got to this point

The point where I can’t recognize being

I don’t know how I have lost so much

When it was only yesterday I was in your arms

 

I do know your love kept me sane

Your love gave me hope

Your love consoled me when I shed that tear

Your love was my northern star

 But today your love has made me lose myself

 

How can I get those days I wept for you back?

How can I move forward when loving you has held me back?

Have I really lost all my common sense?

Please forgive me and return my heart so I can love again

 

You gave me the best days of my existence

You gave me the best feeling I could ever have

You gave my first experience of true love

I just wish our love never died

 

I hold on to this fantasy of finding the person you once were

To only find a stranger in my bed

How can this be when you promised we will last?

How can my heart be breaking when you said you will be true?

 

I want to love you, I want to feel you but the distance between us is proving to be a distance too great

I would follow you across the seas, but I feel I will just be chasing shadows

Your love has paralyzed me, to the point I can’t hear my own thoughts

Please forgive me and return my heart so I can love again
