For what does a simple dove symbolize?

A chance for a being to find comfort

For a warrior to rest his strong eyes

A chance for strangers to mingle and court

It’s pure and untainted wings float softly

Looking for a place to perch for a while

To find a being who won’t turn blindly

A home where it can be docile

Despite it’s tired and protesting small wings

The simple dove can’t completely settle

For yet the bell of safety is to ring

‘Til then, the dove will glide like a petal

            For now the plague of pain willingly roams

            And for now, the simple dove can’t find home
