Ole Folk

Ole Folk

A Poem by Blue
"

A poem about an old person

"

Life’s fandango
Has made me down
The once happy face
Now carries a frown
Sitting all alone
In my rocking chair
No one to talk to
No one to comb my gray hair
As she did long ago
I sit all alone
In my old house
The cat is dead
The dog is too
The mouse died long ago
I wait for someone
To come by
To give me love
To say Hi
I am so old now
And I have no one
Lonely is the way
I will die
I thought I had grand kids
But I must not
They do not come and see me
As my body rots
I sit in my rocking chair
All day long
Waiting for someone
Who cares
