A SUBCONSCIOUS COLLUSION

A SUBCONSCIOUS COLLUSION

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Leafing through an album of painful memories

"
A subconscious collusion
the color of memories
washes over me in
battlefield gray bouquets.

This date is encircled in red
on every calendar I own
and smiles that forgot to
remember are wiped clean...
quickly vanishing like an ant
in the mouth of a furnace.

Leafing through the dusty album
of black and white photographs,
I often wonder where your
beautiful smile now resides
other than the faded opaque
image clinging tenaciously to
that last drop of glue.

i still have albums of photographs that include exes....i still have contact with one...but the others are an enigma to me...and yes, there is that wonder...not only what they are doing, but wondering if they ever think of me in some way...

but the binding of those memories is certainly worn...about to give out one of these days.
