PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY MIND

PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY MIND

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Dedicated to those who battle with Alzheimer's....

"

Every day its something new
To contemplate or fear...
Forgetting things she's always known
So often starts the tears.

Memories are what she holds
Most dear within her heart.
But sometimes now she cannot seem
To find the place they start.

Confusion shrouds her days and nights...
She wanders aimlessly,
And tries to hide herself from view
So others will not see.

Dear Lord, she prays, be merciful
To family and friends.
Please...take my life but not my mind...
Before my journey ends.

Thank you so much Mick for your kind review! ~Sharon
A debilitating disease indeed and one that requires so much help and attention of the patient. You raise a great awareness to this condition. Excellent...:).................
