INVISIBLY YOURS

INVISIBLY YOURS

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Feeling invisible to the world....

"

When did this feeling of loathing herself begin
to cling to her skin like a book on a shelf?
When did the voices of taunting begin?
And why does it seem she has not one friend?

She tries to look happy to please everyone
And hides her heart-break in the light of the sun.
The ocean of tears she sheds through the night
Serve only to make all the lies to seem right.

She tries to keep busy to make the time pass,
And dresses with style just to prove she has class.
But no one remembers or knows she is there.
She wonders...when she's gone...will anyone care?

so beautifully expressed, and so sad.

it reminds me of the painful and shameful bullying that goes on in schools. as a former educator, I saw this way too many times and tried to intercede as best I could.

the consequences are far too great. too many young boys and girls suffer in silence and have such beautiful smiles to try to mask the pain.

an important message, well delivered.

Well written and delivered!
I could feel the sadness within these emotional words
and I must say was heartbroken in a sense:( I too have
been in a similar situation of having to hold myself together
under hard circumstances and have failed miserably:(
Brought back some memories, I thank God for pulling me
through those hard times, thanks for sharing and b-blessed!
