MY BESTEST FRIEND

A boy and his dog....

'Ole Skeeter...he's my bestest friend!
He's with me day and night.
He guards me when he sleeps with me...
And makes the dark seem light.

Some people say, "He's just a dog."
But we know that's all wrong.
Part of him is human-like...
He knows where he belongs.

When I kneel down to say my prayers,
He always joins right in.
He bows his head until I'm through
And then...the fun begins!

He hops up on my night time bed
And turns in circles 'round...
Until he finds that special spot
That only he has found.

No...Skeeter's not a dog to me,
He is my bestest friend.
I'll love him 'till the day I die,
And see him 'round that bend!

My best friend had a dog named Skeeter who looked like the one in this photo. He too was almost human.

i have a book of dog poems you would appreciate...probably can find it on line..it's poems by dogs...famous authors write poems from the perspective of the dogs...very creative.
