WINGS OF LACE

WINGS OF LACE

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Dedicated to the memory of my son...

"

WINGS OF LACE

In purple-tinted wings of lace
And angels breath to grace this place...
I see your eyes of blue.
And though I know this too shall pass
My heart accepts the looking glass...
Though it is never you.

By day or night I war and fight
To hold you in my arms in light...
But dreaming does not last.
I seek the norm yet see your form,
So still and lifeless in this storm...
That ever holds me fast.

The good die young it has been said
And it is truth...for you are dead...
I wish to god were me.
Your suffering should have been mine
I've wished it so for all of time
And yet...it cannot be.

Unfair....unjust I cry and mourn!
My only son....to be firstborn,
I know you've been set free.
The years go by and still I cry,
And ever ask the reason why...
'Twas you instead of me.
~~

"Forever loving and missing you son."

no man in the world can pretend to understand the terrible pain a mother feels at the passing of a child.
wonderful tribute, so elegantly penned.
I'm so terribly sorry for your loss Sharon and no, I imagine it doesn't get any better with the passing of time.

I can only echo Woody's comments, as he has expressed the quality and depth of your poem so well.
Beautifully written with a love that needs no further embellishment.

This is a very touching tribute. I am so sorry for you though I know words will not ease the pain. It is something that you will have to live with but take comfort from the fact that your son is in a far better place. A place where there is no pain and just contentment and one day we will all meet our loved ones there.
This is a beautifully written poem. The masters of old would have been proud of this effort.

I've just lived through your birthday son...the fourth one since your passing. It does not get any easier as time goes by and there are some things that time does not heal. I love you to the moon and back. "Mom"
