THE TASTE OF SORROW

THE TASTE OF SORROW

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

A continuing grief....

"

THE TASTE OF SORROW

An ebb and flow of endless days
Where tears become a flowing maze
To wash away the piercing gaze
Of time and its recall

Weigh heavy on the breaking heart
Where never does the pain empart
A form of ceasless tattooed marks
Which pierce the soul in vain

But tastes of sorrow like unto
My every breath and thought of you
Wherein I seek to live it through
Yet never can repose

Upon the mantel whereon lies
A portrait of the one who died
By day and night the while I cry...
My thorn without a rose

The thorn is left when the rose departs....what a perfect metaphor. When someone we love dies, the pain pierces our very souls. I remember when you went through the pain....the sorrow. I know that you will never forget, never truly get through it. May his memory be a bit of a blessing, Sharon. Your words are heartfelt. Lydi**
