NEEDING YOU

NEEDING YOU

A Poem by Miss Sharon

NEEDING YOU

You
weave me
into songs
of minor key
with a dissonance
which covers me up like
a quilt of mismatched colors.
You paint me into sharp corners
leaving me like an untended child whose
fear becomes entwined with a need for love.
Pulling a thread of the mismatched colors,
I see the ease with which I am torn
while quilting my life to your own.
Reassembling the loose threads,
I skillfully weave me
into myself and out
of your hands...
no longer
needing
you.
