HIDDEN SECRETS

HIDDEN SECRETS

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Sharing is better that hiding.....

"
HIDDEN SECRETS

Shared secrets 'neath the old oak tree
Were never mine to give.
My heart stood still and helpless there...
Why should I want to live?

All reason slipped beyond the place
You kept your secrets hid,
And there I stood...without a clue
To what your spirit did.

You had a smile upon your face
But needless were aware,
A master of deception...you...
To prove you did not care.

These secrets shared were meant to be
A bond for all of time.
To bind our souls...no secrets held
In never ending rhyme.

Miss Sharon, Your work popped up twice today when I clicked “Discover,” much to my delight. This poem, like all the rest of your work I’ve read so far, packs a lot of emotional power. This one, especially, though, reminds me of Emily Dickinson’s poetry, which I love.

Ms. Sharon, another wonderful poem with great rhyme...you're a master at it! The best relationships are the ones with trust and, to have trust there can be no secrets. It is difficult for some to share secrets for fear of being judged for what they did. Actually, if judged then, it's a good benchmark for how the relationship will, or will no, grow. Two people have to feel free to share without being judged. That is the best kind of relationship. Great work! Temp

Hi Sharon, one can understand the deep emotions within this wonderful write. So many of us have some hidden secrets that we might one day come to let out. I love the flow and the rhyme within this wonderful write. "Too many secrets can sink the ship." I love the content of this poetic gem, Sharon. Have a wonderful Sunday. Hugs always....Mike.

' A master of deception...you... ~ To prove you did not care.'

Such great meter wrapping your wisdom, Sharon. A wise father told my sister and I to always remember that whilst you're telling someone else's secret, someone else could be telling yours! A mantra for then and now forever!

Thanks ever so much my dear for a beautiful response to this write! I appreciate you. ~Sharon
Your rhyming is flawless and the message is wise. We all need to know that some things are better left unsaid in this world. Sometimes a shared secret is used against a person. Excellent write, Sharon. Lydi*

yes, just like Carly Simon sang..."we had no secrets, told each other most everything now"

but towards the end of the song admitted there were secrets maybe she would rather had not been shared at all...
I would tell you how much I really liked this poem, Sharon. BUT, it's a secret!!!!!!!
