Best Friend

I'm describing a best friend

A best friend is someone you love
Someone you hold dear to your heart
Wether you live across the street
Or live five-thousand miles apart
A best friend might not always agree with you
But they try to understand
And even if they're mad at you
If you're upset they'll hold your hand
They might not always put you first
But you're near the top of the list
And when you're apart for even a second
You know that you'll be missed
A best friend is someone you can trust
They are there for you through and through
No, they are not always perfect
But you can believe they'll always love you
They listen to your problems
When you call them at 3am
And when you're feeling lonely
A warm hug and a smile is what they give
A best friend let's you be yourself
Even if they don't agree
They see the feelings you hide inside
What's buried underneath
A best friend will never judge you
With them you have no need to fear
But they give their honest opinions
They'll tell you what you need to hear
All in all a best friend is special
Someone it'd be wise to never lose
And if I had to pick between you and some boy
You'd be the one I'd choose
