Mirror Sword (The Fabrications)

Mirror Sword (The Fabrications)

A Poem by Jonhoi Vaughn

You, the world, surround us.

When you’re ready we’ll see.

We will see the sword.

The one that cut the Source.

Our mind mirrors lie.

They fool us wide-eyed.

Fool us into leaving earth.

Leave you.

Common, the way it calls out names…

For us to invest in our hurt.

To divide the cut that spreads the verve,

Trickling from the deep incisions of the earth;

The hole in you.

Tall tales the mirrors profess…

That we are…

Pregnant and rife with bitter sweet wrongs and the taste of fetter.

You…

The mirrors in the earth stand before us,

With fabricated realities.

To reflect the sword that cut the source.

To be paralyzed in a verve.

I've had many different theories about the Source. I look at it differently as time passes.

An old friend inquired a while back about the source of my power. WHen the words echoed back I was beyond hurt, that they could even wonder at such a thing. But religion is such a hate-filled institution, what can't be explained must be evil.

i just realised something...you write poems for people. i believe you write them for you too, but this is one of those open interpretation poems...i get religion from this. the paralysis of the verve is the typical man trapped in his book of religion.

"When you're ready we'll see.
We will see the sword.
The one that cut the Source."
- whenever god(s) deem(s) it fit to judge, we will look towards the entity purposely put to cause discomfort to the source, i.e the god(s) who put the sword there in the first place.

mind-mirror sounds like a beautiful way to say "eye" as we see whatever out biases make us perceive. religion being one of the best bias initiators.

3rd & 4th stanza - admit your transgressions. we are beings full of evil and sh!t...

5th - religion aka mirrors explain the evil (sword) in the world that distracts us from gazing upon the mirror as it attacks the mirror...as it attacks us.

i know i said earlier that i didn't like the title over the one you had chosen earlier, but i rate it now...very much. i love this writing. for what it spoke to me and hopefully what it may speak differently to others...thanks for sharing!
