Selah (Forever)

Selah (Forever)

A Poem by Jonhoi Vaughn

"Choke" says Adonai
Says the drizzle and pour of honey lotion
and airless powder
and seasoned kisses.
Says an abstract and forbidden beast...
Love...
Brimming with a steam no darker than grey.
Ridden in the heart
I see no further than twenty degrees
In the periphery of either eye...
My reality is butchered
And I am at ease in Artificial Glaucoma...
Barbed wires wrenched through the chest;
A pool of yin and yang for local anesthesia...

A colour red
A wordless meandering
Aiming dead into the most complex things
Turgid in definition
Ripe until rotten in the cesspool of thought,
Flushed into the mouth to be gargled
A pool of yin and yang,
A colour red,
A quagmire of mucous,
Texture viscous with vexation,
Blood is a word and nothing more.
Copious in silence.
Stirring in the geyser of Freya's wet yoni
Not impressive
Not blessed
but...
A colour red
A wordless locomotion of thought
Scraping the underbelly of the soul;
Brittle
Soft
Fresh with droplets of dew...
The wound still blankets the knife.
Shalom is dead...
A Pyhrric victory.

Adonai, Freya, Shalom, Pyhrris . . . going to have to sort out the myth and legend before I can comment very far. I see red again. With textures I don't normally find in poems. Oozing, viscous, quagmires of red. You would think it might be a horrific scene. But somehow with the droplets and the dew, there is something very tranquil about the scene. Maybe it is just my bedtime . . . you know I'll be back again on another day.

this is a pretty cryptic one but i've forged some understanding. all in all it was a great read and certainly compelling as i took several reads of it before commenting. it's interesting how you've described what i think your describing to say the least. you make it sound restorative and yet cursed. definitely a triumph.
