The Many Layered Heart

 

What layer are you on?

 

The surface

            the middle

                        the core.

All the above …

            I’m not sure,

anymore.

 

What layer do i hold you.

What layer do I release you?

 

            Apparently

 

I release all layers

            all levels

               of trust

               and love

               and devotion.

 

They pour out

            through the sieve

   of my skin

and into the vapors

               of the earth.

 

I am now free

I am now empty

            For what?

 

Clarity i suppose

Opportunity to show

This Pain, I know…

 

My heart

            is vibrant,

            it pulses

   in all layers

   in all levels

            waiting,

               for a spark.
