Exposed

Exposed

A Poem by PP

Like flickering candle light
Glimmer of flames blending
Fumes of different colours
Dance as they burn
Like the fragrance of incense
Angles disperse in the air
As they float and fill up spaces
Sunshine splatters a scenery
To the music
Coming from swaying branches
Of many leafy tress
Mingles with the vibes of the restless waves
To create melody of voices unheard
To human ears in peace
The melting away of the symphony
Takes over melancholy
Silent are the words
Spoken to someone unknown
Feelings bulge, ooze and erupt
Like gravity pulling and extracting
Emotions from the chambers of the heart
So tightly locked away in caution
Love rips it right open
Leaving the vital organs exposed
To who knows what?

AND THEN YOU JUST GO WITH THIS IN THE LINES...YOU GIVE THE READER A SENSE OF IMAGERY AND THE NARRATIVE CONTINUES TO DISSOLVE LIKE THE CANDLE...UNTIL THE WICK IS NO MORE...AND YOU END THIS WITH A QUESTION:

Emotions from the chambers of the heart
So tightly locked away in caution
Love rips it right open
Leaving the vital organs exposed
To who knows what?

AND THE QUESTION GOES ON TO EXPOSE THE PERSON FOR WHO THEY ARE IN THE WRITING...YOU TAKE THE VERY THOUGHTS OF WHO YOU ARE AND LET THEM OUT IN THE OPEN...

you're welcome...hope all is well...
Sounds like a lovely night. lol. I could use a night like that. Strong, passionate, almost erotic write. Got my pulse up.
Emotions from the chambers of the heart
So tightly locked away in caution
Love rips it right open
Leaving the vital organs exposed
To who knows what? Love it.

Title, Picture and Poem all 3 of them link each other. Relation is try to be strong with lock and its all rusted and title is appealing with exposed and still it goes very well with this write. Prathama - this was exactly what a poet link too. Amazing write and really hold me tight till the end of this poem :)

Cheers!

Beautiful imagery I think. I like the open ended ending of the piece. Personally I don't write much about myself really but in a way it's inevitable (there's peril in that for the writer in a way). Wonderful write! Thanks!

I enjoy your poetry. I need to slow down and read each statement. You described a emotion with skill and I like the ending. Where does it lead? No weakness in the amazing poetry.

I am feeling exposed right now myself. Having just started submitting works long held private. I can identify with what you are saying here. That is the beauty and tragedy in the courage it takes to pen our words and expose ourselves. Will we be accepted or shunned. You word this one quite beautifully.

Thank you Frieda, much love x
yes, this is incredible...and love can rip the heart open...we become so exposed...vulnerable. "feelings bulging , oozing etc.

all that yes,

you describe it in a way that exposes all of us at one time or another.
